The Story

The first module, which is free, has a lesson called 'Introducing the Teacher,' which describes my journey as a technical writer, so I will spare you the details here. Instead, let me tell you what led to setting up this online course.

After hitting the mid-century mark, I wanted to try my hand at something else. So I started a small business, importing palm-leaf plates into New Zealand from India. The plates were amazing, and everyone who bought them agreed, but the business did not take off. The same thing happened with my other set of products—high-quality writing instruments.

A chance remark from my daughter was the aha moment for me. "Why don't you stick to what you know well? Why don't you teach technical writing?"

It took me a year to put the course together, and I am quite pleased with the result. Moreover, the potential for its usefulness is obvious.

This website also has a Blog page where we'll keep adding posts about other topics of interest, that may not be addressed in the lessons.

The Forum is an exciting opportunity—a community feature—that can only become more and more valuable with time. Everyone who enrolls in a paid course automatically has access to the Forum where you can interact with other students as well as with experienced tech writers.
